was established in 1974 to continue, in a more complete and expanded form, professional surveyor and consultancy activity in the naval field, which had started in 1968 by the founding members: Captain SCHIAFFINO SALVO Giorgio and Cap. ANGHELE' Claudio.
The works most characterized by STB’s development include:

1970-73

Supervision of the construction of two VLCCs called RITINA and PRIMAROSA of the SIR Group.

1968-76

Consulting to the MICOPERI / SUB SEA OIL SERVICES Group for offshore activities and in particular: surveillance of the transformation and start-up of Mv. CAPALONGA, one of the first ships with dynamic positioning.

1972-73

Assistance related to the purchase and the first rigging of the cruise ship called MARDI GRAS, the first ship of the CARNIVAL CRUISE LINE.

1973-76

Design the transformation of ROLANDO and INDUS ships into cattle carriers.

1969-82

Continuous consultancy to shipping companies / lines in the field of timber transport from West Africa, live animals from South America, Petrochemicals.

1976-80

Assistance in the construction and operation of six (6) Atlantic fishing vessels.

1976

Transformation of the Mv. SECOND SPAN from bulk to ro-ro vessel.

1978-84

Constant consultancy for shipping companies of the caliber of LINEA CANGURO, ICI and ALMARE DI NAVIGAZIONE.

since 1982

Various consultancy regarding the purchase of cargo ships, oil tankers, chemical tankers, supply vessels, dredges and pontoons, etc.

since 1985

Supervised the construction of many yachts of various sizes (from 12 meters to 50 meters).

since 2000

Supervised the construction of IMO chemical tankers (in AISI 316L and AVESTA2205 steel), oil tankers, product carriers, bulk carriers, at Italian and foreign shipyards (Croatia, Turkey, China, Korea).

since 1968

The expert activity (TRANSPORT BRANCH) for damage to bodies, yachts and goods.

From the beginning, the intent of the founding members was to create a complex capable of personalizing the tasks received to the maximum and operating in the entire field of "shipping" which - despite being vast - is closely connected in its many aspects. The staff available today, with a direct and/or continuous/occasional relationship, is very reliable and perfectly integrated with the work methodology that STB ITALIA proposed from the beginning.
